About Us
A gurukul for the modern age
Sangeetshala is an initiative to promote Indian Classical Music and Global Classical Music, and to make serious vocal & instrumental training accessible to students of every age and background. We believe music is not a performance to be watched but a discipline to be lived — rooted in tradition, open to the world.
Our Story
Sangeetshala began as a small circle of practitioners meeting to preserve ragas and talas that were slipping out of everyday teaching. What started as informal riyaaz sessions grew into a structured school — one that treats Hindustani classical music and the Western classical tradition as two dialects of the same human impulse: to give time a shape worth remembering.
Today we run vocal and instrumental programs for children, adults and working professionals, host recitals and lecture-demonstrations, and maintain a growing library of notation, recordings and writing on both traditions.
